Emergency Food Assistance
The ALMS HOUSE collects and redistributes food to families daily, sourcing from surplus and prepared perishables donated to our program. Our goal is to bridge the gap between individual incomes and government benefits.
Service Hours and Location
- Address: 3909 Ellison Street, Hope Mills, NC
- Assistance Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM
Eligibility and Referrals
Our emergency food pantry services are available to clients every four to twelve months. Referrals are required and can be obtained from the Cumberland County Department of Social Services. Please contact us for more details about our program.
Food Donations
We welcome donations to support our initiative and encourage organizing food drives to help serve our community. To organize a food drive, please call 910-425-0902 or email volunteer@almshousehopemills.com.
Suggested Donation Items
Protein Sources:
- Tuna, Salmon, etc.
- Beef Stew, Spam, Corned Beef
- Peanut Butter (18 oz.)
Vegetables:
- Greens (e.g., Turnip), Mixed Vegetables
- Peas (green)
- Tomatoes, Corn, Green Beans, etc.
Fruits:
- Peaches, Pears, Fruit Cocktail, Applesauce
Other Items:
- Soups
- Sugar (1 lb.)
- Dry milk
- Oatmeal (18 oz.)
- Macaroni & cheese
- Bags of dry beans
- Rice (1 lb. or larger bags)
Infant and Baby Care:
- Diapers (up to size 4)
